Polymerization

FLUX large-area candle polymer filters are engineered specifically for polymerization environments where fine melt filtration and pressure stability are critical.

Discover how FLUX supports Polymerization

In polymerization reactors and finishing lines, even microscopic gels, catalyst residues, or cross-linked particles can disrupt batch consistency and cause costly issues in downstream processing. These small imperfections quickly show up as line breaks, off-spec pellets, and higher scrap rates in fiber, film, and bottle applications.

Installed on reactor discharge, melt pumps, or transfer lines, the FLUX system removes catalyst fines, gels, and char before the melt enters storage silos or spinning beams. This delivers consistently clean polymer melt, smoother pressure behavior, and more predictable operation across the line.

Compared with small-window screen changers, the FLUX large-area concept maintains a wide filtration surface with minimal pressure fluctuation. That makes it practical to run 5–25 µm absolute filtration without sacrificing throughput, which is essential for high-end PET, PBT, Nylon, PP, and PC grades used in fibers, films, and engineering parts.

Key Benefits: Removal of catalyst fines, gels, and char; prevention of spinneret clogging in fiber lines; extended run-lengths between reactor and filter clean-outs; more stable head pressure and fewer unplanned interruptions in polymerization and melt transfer sections.

Typical Polymers: PET, PBT, Nylon (PA6, PA66), Polypropylene (PP), Polycarbonate (PC).
