Compounding lines run at high pressure and shear, processing highly filled polymers, color masterbatches, and demanding engineering alloys. In this environment, unmelted, carbonized, or foreign particles can rapidly plug conventional screen packs, forcing frequent screen changes and unplanned extruder shutdowns. The result is unstable head pressure, visible defects in pellets or parts, and a constant compromise between filtration fineness and line availability.
FLUX large‑area candle filters are built for these conditions, where stable melt pressure and clean dispersion are essential. Installed downstream of the extruder or melt pump, the FLUX system provides a wide effective filtration area that resists fast blinding, even with high‑fill formulations and abrasive additives. This helps the line maintain consistent pressure and temperature profiles, supporting uniform dispersion of pigments, fillers, and flame‑retardant packages.
By combining large‑area filtration with controlled pressure drop, FLUX polymer filters make it practical to run 10–100 µm filtration without sacrificing throughput or process stability. For color masterbatch, glass‑filled nylon, flame‑retardant compounds, and TPE/TPV alloys, this translates into fewer gels, cleaner surfaces, and more predictable mechanical properties.
